Association of African Distance Learning Centres –
(AADLC)
The Association of Africa Distance Learning Centres (AADLC)
forms a part of the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN),
a global partnership of learning centers (GDLN Affiliates)
that offer the use of advanced information and communication
technologies to connect people working in development around
the world. The AADLC was established at the Second Regional
Meeting of African DLCs, held in Dar
Es Salaam, Tanzania, in May 2003. The main objectives
of the AADLC are to:
- Coordinate a regional approach to capacity building
with respective African countries and Development partners,
technology providers and educators;
- Promote ethics and groom quality leadership ;
- Promote the development and use of content within
the region;
- Contribute to an easier access to knowledge worldwide;
- Support and encourage the sharing of experiences and
best practices among members; and
- Widen the network of DLCs in Africa and provide
a benchmarking platform.
