Three years down the lane since its official registration
in Tanzania (2006), the Association of African Distance Learning
Centres (AADLC) has made strides in enhancing capacities of
its members by improving internal monitoring and evaluation
system, management of a historic technology transition for
connectivity and increased partnerships to cater for increased
clients demands and needs and enhancing knowledge sharing
across the continent.
The Association has also continued to deliver quality training
programmes and focused dialogues through video conference,
multimedia approach and blended approaches across the globe.
"We have every reason to congratulate ourselves for the
good work we have put up since AADLC came into being,"
affirms, Mr. Charles Senkondo, the AADLC Vice President and
the Executive Director of the Tanzania Global Development
Learning Centre.
Mr. Eric Edem Bosrotsyi, a Ghanian IT Specialist echoed Senkondo's
remarks adding that AADLC has provided a platform for DLC's
in Africa, Development Partners, Governments, Private Sector
and Members of the general public to come into contact and
strategise for best ways to spearhead development in Africa.
The AADLC has chatted ways to ensure that it becomes self
sustainable and has open doors to other interested countries
to join its network which covers both Anglophone and Francophone
countries. Currently it is comprised of 13 active members
with Mozambique, Angola, Mali, Nigeria, and Somalia finalising
procedures to join it.
